If you have a hot tub, pond, or some other something full of water with no drain that has to be cleaned every once in a while, this is a how-to that may come in handy. All that you need is a hose a faucet for the hose and something to hold the hose in place if you’re by yourself.
Connect one end of the hose to the faucet.
Place the other end of the hose in whatever you’re draining. When I don't have a helper, I get the open end of the hose wedged in the bottom of the hot tub and hold in place with a board.
Turn the water on long enough for it to start to add water to what you’re draining. Then turn it off and quickly disconnect the hose from the faucet.
Take that end of the hose down hill as much as possible, making sure that there are no kinks in it.
The water will drain almost completely out. I use a small piece of 2x4 to hold the hose in place on the hot tub while it’s draining. It’s amazing how little water is left using this simple method.
